Our superb golf course is the perfect visitor destination, a top quality layout that is a challenge for all standards of golfer with a price tag that won’t break the bank.
The first thing to say about Prestbury is how good it is. The course is a superb Harry Colt layout and is kept to the highest standard. Many visitors who have played Prestbury tell us the condition is comparable to European Tour venues. Undulating fairways and fast greens make for a high quality golf experience.
The layout of the course is superb. The course utilises many of the natural elements of the land to provide a great routing and a challenge to all who play. Harry Colt was the original architect and Hawtree and Son had a hand in the development after the Second World War. More recently, the Club has employed the services of leading course architects Mackenzie and Ebert.
Our caterers are in a class of their own. You will struggle to find a golf course in the country with better catering. They can tailor all types of foods to your requirements and we’ve have many local dining groups revisit us because of the quality!
From the moment you call to enquire about your visit our professional staff will deal with all of your requirements to ensure everything goes smoothly. You can relax and enjoy your day safe in the knowledge that everything has been taken care of.
The delightful village of Prestbury, along with nearby Alderley Edge, is consistently ranked as one of the most desirable villages in the UK and is located within easy reach of Manchester city centre, the M6 and M56 motorways, Manchester Airport (without being under the flight path!) and the stunning Peak District National Park.
As well as the course, the club is rightly proud of its 27-acre practice ground with purpose built grass tee, long and short game areas and indoor teaching facility. The envy of most other clubs!

Given the ever-changing legislation on Health & Safety matters, the Club utilises an outside, Queen’s Award Winning company to advise us on all matters and to carry out regular inspections of our processes and procedures. The health and safety of our members and visitors is of paramount importance and we continue to look at ways to safeguard our customers.
On the Golf Course:
- Always wear proper golf shoes. In winter and during wet conditions, hard spikes are recommended.
- In foggy or misty conditions never hit the ball beyond your field of visibility.
- Should lightning strike, golfers are advised to return to the Clubhouse immediately and not take shelter under trees.
- Always obey the sound of the air-horn during thundery conditions and stop play immediately.
